Call me crazy, but here's what I came up with:
A Momo Marine steering wheel generally sells for a lot less than the regular automotive wheels. Reason being: they're not leather, so they can withstand the UV rays & weathering from marine use. The basic wheel is the same as the automotive application, so the correct hub adapter would work. I found online a Momo Corse marine steering wheel (13.8") for $58 The bolt pattern on the wheel is 6 bolts and would mount to the hub/adapter ($65). The hub adapter has the horn button assembly for automotive use. So in all, you could have a Momo wheel on your brick for about $150, or less in my case since my best friend can get them at cost because he's a marine mechanic. Comments are welcome.

No, because the stock steering wheel is the size of a bus wheel. I love my MOMO wheel!

What kind of busses do you have? The steering wheels in our cars are fine for size IMO. Out toyota land crusier has a big ass skinny wheel but it works. If you think your car has a big wheel go find one in an american or britsh car from the 70's

Sounds like a good plan, but I don't have $150. Much less $150 that I can spend on a steering wheel.

MOMO's are nice, I have a red one which almost matches my red GT stripes on the door panels. Lots of MOMO's on eBay. They do feel nice and look good. The original turbo wheels are pretty good for an OEM, I just wanted something different

lmao, i dont understand why someone would complain.. its about style, and feel. my friend just bought a 350 dollar usd sparco steering wheel.. why? because stock legacy steering wheels are pos compared to one. sure alot of it is about having ab rand name in your car but the function of a preformance part surpasses the function of a stock part.
edit - and 150 is a totally awsome deal.

yeah I've been thinking about a Momo or something aftermarket race style steering wheel myself, something I can get fairly cheap though, I love the stock steering wheel in my wagon, it's just the right size and doesn't look bad (the SRS model steering wheel), the steering wheel in my sedan is plain scary huge decreasing little leg room . . . .

Sounds like a good idea. The only nitpick I would have is that it might not be DOT legal- but that's a small nitpick at best.
I have an R-sport wheel and I love it- I don't touch any part of my car more than the wheel- so it's really nice to have a good one. |

i've got a nice leather 375mm nardi (£14 off ebay) on a momo, i really like it. i've also got a 360mm raid wheel but find that too small in a 740

so either your really short or don't like to see you gauges. with the 360 it cuts off the top of the speedo. so thats about as short as i'd go.

ppl brought up a good question, what size of steering wheel should we look for? on my orignal catalogue they were offering 350mm Volvo OEM 3-spoke steering wheel and I dig those.

I kinda like the Early 240 GT steering wheel. It kinda looks reminisent of a transformers symbol. I saw one for sale for $10. Not too bad.

Yeah I think mine is 350mm as well- it's about 1/2"-1" smaller than a late/glt/gt wheel.
There are a few different r-sport wheels- the one in the pic being the most common one I've seen. Then there is one with a small rectangular volvo badge in the bottom "spoke" which was a 700 wheel, another variation, and then the one with the red stitching around the leather which is my favorite (and the one I have. ;)) BTW the GT wheel is the same as a Turbo/GLT wheel it's just a different horn button. |

A 350mm (13.8") works quite well in my 240, especially with an aftermarket seat that has me sitting lower so that none of the gauges in the main cluster are blocked by the wheel (lower 52mm is always partially blocked). Stock GT/Bertone/Turbo/late DL is 14.5" (368mm).
