Default Another Street legal day has just been added at A.C.D.!

They were talking today on the loudspeaker at the track that they've added another street legal day! February 28! Please note: this one is on a Sunday! Maybe a few more of us can come this time since we have a little more time to plan for it! Since this one still falls under the category of a relatively last minute add on, I expect it will be a low turn out day as well! And even if the turnout is a little greater than it was today, it's alright because we'll have more time between runs for engine cool down! I could have used that today! I've also heard that Feb. 28 is the day of the Stupid Bowl. Is that true? If it is than that may keep some of the other folks away and work to our advantage too! Let's hope a cold front blows through the day before!
Regards, Eric

Do you mean February 28th or January 28th. With regards to the Super Bowl, Feb 7th In Miami. Feb 28th sounds like we might get more people there. I have plans to get done to my 245T, but I will not say for sure it will get done before then. I know some others have shown interest and one is very possibly the one lap of America 744. That one would be one of two that will likely be attending that will REQUIRE a helmet.

Feb. 28. They mentioned it several times and the fact it is a Sunday. They haven't done a Sunday for us in over a year.

The Head Mama there, Beth Rice, complained to me once when I was whining for more dates that we never show up to the added dates which is why she is hesitant to add them. I told her it's because they never add the added dates to the website. She said they do. Do any of you see it? http://www.autoclubspeedway.com/Tick...of-Events.aspx I sure don't see it. So less people will show which we like but she doesn't like and as a result she won't add more dates which we don't like. She likes to see the place packed but some guys are so turned of by the fact that they only got 3 runs in that they never go back. (like josh for example) Why does it almost always seem like only the idiots get put in charge?

PJ, if you're not done with your 245T, just bring one of your daily drivers!

The 245 will always be running unless major catastrophe happens. Want I meant is we were changing things soon, and we should have it done and settled before that track day. My 245 is my daily driver. My wife drives the 745, and the 242 is minus an engine and lacking major funds to get it running.

So sad that an event organizer can be so short sighted to understand that if the website lacks information that people wont know about it. Next time you see her, ask a person with internet on their laptop to show her what the site it lacking. Hard to deny when the proof is right in front of you.

I'll more than likely be there. Still need to find some slicks to run on though.

Slicks? Don't you want to know what your car runs in the real world in real world trim?

Glad to hear you are coming though.

The 244 is being built specifically for the track, with a goal of 12.5- and 110+. Slicks were the plan from day 1. I will probably drive on the street with cheater slicks too.

When I can afford it, anyway...I lost my job yesterday.

So the 244 will be on a stock turbo probably, and close to a stock engine...maybe a boost controller, maybe an exhaust. I'll add a couple parts every couple of months, then go get a new ET, until the end of the year when it should be hitting my goal of 12.5 or better.

PS...my 850 is hungry for Benz...

Yeah, now that you have a new Turbo!

Are you gonna bring both the 850 and the 244?

If the Corrado hasn't sold yet can you bring it? It'd be cool for it to see the 1/4 mile before it goes.

Hey, you guys remember that BMW guy that was supposed to show up at the Dec 5th track day but didn't? Well, He just bought a Turbobrick! I don't have any details yet but he is already committed to bringing it to the Feb. 28 track day.

L8, what E/T do you figure your new turbo is gonna get you in the 850? If I can get my car down to a 14.20, will I be in the hunt? Will I have a chance?

Are we having fun yet? The race to say yes and then not show up is on for the socal peeps. Kinda looking forward to this, even if the 245 is not up to best condition.

I may not have a new turbo for the 850 yet. Depends on tax returns and financial aid from school. I don't think I'll have either one yet. The 850 just blew the HG...I'm starting on it this weekend. The money I'm spending for repairs was the turbo money.

I think the first turbo I get will be for the 244, but it just depends at this point. If I get the turbo on it, it will run better than a 14.2. If not...it should be 14.2-14.3, so it would be very very close. Adding 2 small mods along with the HG repair (N/A cams and a TB plate). Good for 10hp tops, if that.

I'm planning to bring both cars...but the 244 will be basically stock. Just doing a baseline run on it before adding the fun stuff in the upcoming months. I doubt I'll have a turbo on either car before 2/28. I was planning on April.

ACR/D = Auto Club Raceway/Dragway. Fontucky.

I'll set up the dyno at my place or David's place next week, and one of us will start a post gauging interest/participation.

Ahh, he lives, the deathdealer lives. Sean does not have a dyno but he has the ability to organize a dyno day. I might watch the Dyno stuff, but doubt I would put my car on. Just redid the wastegate set up on my 50 trim and learned that my wastegate puck was jamming against the spot it was to sit in. Basically, my gate was not swinging open or closed properly, so, I was getting mad lag and boost spikes most of the time and occasionally, a decent pull when rolling through the gears. After some spot welding, lots of grinding, and test fitting, I got it to function properly. I finally get good boost in 1st, second is silly, and third is silly fun as well. Peak HP is not up, BUT, the spool up is millions times better, and Much less lag. Too bad I also created a nasty oil leak at the turbo drain line. I plan to fix it in the early morning. I might try and use one of the solid pipes I have and not use the hose I have now. Ahh, the joys of Turbo's. The gods gave me back good boost, and took away the lack of leaks I usually have.

Cheers

I don't think I can do the dyno day because it's just too hard for me to swing two days of play time in one week. If it could happen in a different week that'd be cool.
