Default How about this? 940 turbo tuning!

I have a 945 -1996 LPT

Planning to do this:

531 ported
K-cam, adj camgear
15G turbo from 850
3" exhaust from turbo
465ccm green tops
72mm AMM
3" piping from AMM to turbo. Cone filter.
And of course matching chip to it.

Sounds good to me, what about a V16 turbo cam instead of that k?
What chip are you thinking about, i take it there are companiesover your way that will do a custom map for the 940 etc...got any more details?

You think the K-cam is bad? even if one can "fine tune" it with the camgear?
I think i have found a guy that does custom maps for both ignition and fuel. 6-700$

oooooo, nice!

Mike, problem is, rica used to do custom maps for the 940's, but i dont know if they still do as they removed it from there site, they are only up the road from me, and if they still did custom maps for the 940's, man that would be cool. Besides, im planningsomething more extream than what hes listed....

One questions, what injectors are you using then? from what?

Injectors are the green ones from V70R I think, 465ccm at 3,8bar.

K-cam is for the head mounted thingy. Was in the 531 head i bought off the junkyard for 200$.

really thats very strange, the K cam was last used in the B23E with block dizzy in 84 so never got cut for head mounted dizzy. if you've found one cut someone may of had it done in the past and you've got something very rare

I agree with raven, K cam in a 531 head is unusual to say the least!

ah right, at 3.8bar.......the 940 FRP is 3 bar mate, are you going to use a 4 bar? otherwise they arnt going to flow 465cc with only 3bar of fuel pressure.

looks like you do have something rear then. do get that someone would of have to take it to a machine shop and have that groove cut into it at the exact angle.

according to the note attached to the head it was from a 1987 740 turbo. But I guess some previous owner must have changed the cam.

so probably from a B230ET then hence the 531. so should of had a A cam in there stock, but nice that they upgraded to a K cam and had it cut. most people would swap to a block dizzy to do that

Tell me more about this FPR rebuilding kit.

And I don't think those guys meant that the K was a bad cam, I think they meant that there are still better cams out there, but hell you've got a K cam so why not use it. especially with an adjustable gear.
