Default Oh crap, another one

I accidentally another 240. This time it's a red 1976 244 with lipstick red interior. It's pretty crappy but cars older than 30 years are exempt from road tax and only need inspection every other year here in Sweden. Plans are to make it legal, weld the diff then drive the crap out of it this winter as I want to spare the beigemachine another half year of horrible, rusty death. This one already has no buttcheeks left and a pretty crappy floor and has like 210k miles on it.

Sorry for the crappy pics, I couldn't wait for sunlight.

Also, pimp ass endpipe.

It's a former "beer-car" that I bought last winter. 1991 245 that had not a single straight panel on the entire car. It used to be so damn low the fuel tank was pushed in from hitting the ground constantly. It also had nice features like an exhaust that was routed straight out the right side and welded to the body. But what it did have was a turbocharged B230 and LH2,4 that I pulled out and put in my (in comparison) straight and clean 1976 wagon.

That interior is awesome. Black paint would really round that thing off.

Thanks, I really like it too, unfortunatly it doesn't match the exterior too well. I'm thinking of saving the interior in the shed actually and putting some junk interior in it instead. I was planning on putting in a blue Recaro seat as the drivers seat anyway. The crack free dashboard is a nice bonus as well.

Cool 244. I like the 740 hubcaps, everything's so nice and simple.

Beer wagon? Is that something you get drunk in and smash around?

I know the 244 sucks right now but this is just a "look what I bought" thread for future, more interesting updates. I have some plans for it.

A beer car is a cheap, crappy car. You get drunk with some friends and smash it up and decorate it in ridiculous ways. Then (with a dedicated driver) you cruise around in it on weekends and just have a party inside of it. Common beer cars are Volvo 240 and 740, Mercedes W123, older Fords and so on. Basically just common saloons. Back in the day where this originated from, you'd most likely have a Plymouth Valiant, an Impala, a Rambler or similar. I didn't smash the pinkwaggy, I bought it like that for parts.
