Default CL score, 500 bucks

Nearly superb body (for WI anyway[{s}])

93 240. 186xxx miles. M47. Havent checked to see if its round or square tooth. Has a build date of 92.
Rear parking brakes are frozen up solid. Car's been sitting for over a year.

And the wife's toyota helping anchor the 240 to the driveway... Sure is a bitch to move with a frozen rear end. Need to get that tackled asap.

The interior is amazing. The seats are 9 out of 10. Future plans are turbo it. Should be fairly simple to do being its already LH2.4. I saved the turbo guts from my 91 940 turbo. As well as the ecu/ezk.

Halleluiah! It runs!
Fresh battery, fresh gas, jumped fuses 4 and 6!
The fuse block has some pretty funky corrosion.

I ran it just for less than a minute to jump for joy, then shut it down. Fresh fluids abound!

Also, for those who didn't know, this is a replacement to the last car that was totalled. (I like to say my wife didn't like that car and wrecked it, but she was rear ended). See here.

You and I have a bad buying/selling history. Basically anything that either of us sells to the other doesn't stay in our possession for long.

And buzz would have dibs.

Thanks.

Cold and rainy tonight. Not much I'll do to it. It'll be hard to get in the garage without rolling rear wheels.

Drove it into the garage under its own (battery) power. Cleaned up the fuse block area with a dremel and mini wire wheel. Electronics work pretty good.

Beat the hell outta the rear rotors to get them off and disconnected (for now) the parking brake stuff.
In my attempts to free up the parking brakes, the right rear rotor developed a nice size crack in it.

I'm going to buy all new brake parts anyway.

I've always had a soft spot for late model red 240s. Looks good!

Careful jumping fuses. PO of my POS 89 245 did that with one of them, forget which one, whichever one it was that has the power windows and the reverse lights - one day I put it in reverse to back up and it immediately died, a few seconds later the cabin was full of smoke and the well oil-soaked foam insulation under the shifter was alight. Fortunately I had quick access to a fire extinguisher or I would've lost the car. Turns out the reverse light switch wiring was completely shot and it had grounded out against the shifter linkage assembly.

So... I pulled the driveshafts and center support, worked my way up to the front and went to remove the clutch cable...
WAAAAY outta adjustment.
So I adjusted it. And put everything back together and drove it 'round the yard.

As far as I can tell, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that clutch.
I even goosed the gas in gear with my foot on the brake to see if it slipped or something... NADA.
So some brakes, a driver's handle, and registration and I got me a nice 240.

Good find! Nice work on the fixes. That'll be a nice car to drive when you get it completely sorted for the road.

That would work, but I've got some kickass weather strip adhesive in a GeneralMotors tube left over from my dealership that I've used to resold shoes. It's very good stuff.
Since its so bent, I'm gonna try and pick up a heat gun. I've wanted one for ages.

Looks like 2 trips to Pull-a-part and $30 in car care products and it will be a nice, red 244.

*UPDATE*
Spent a little bit of time on it today.

I pulled the rear bumper off of it. The aluminum core is pretty gnarly. It looks like I can get some steel plate and just run 4 1" wide strips with holes drilled for the bumper support. Then I'll be looking for a better bumper cover.

Oh, and replaced the MAF (scavenged it to fix the sis's 740) and replaced a few missing hose clamps, fixed the battery charger given to me, and swapped fuel pump relays. It starts all by itself now.

Freebie battery charger:
