Default My exhaust ideas

Ok, I think I'm going to keep it the stock 2.5" on the B234 but go with a catco free flow cat and a Flowmaster 50 series delta flow with dual 2" outlets. How do you think it will sound, and should I stick a glasspack in there as well, or leave it out.

why do you want a flowmaster? it has those stupid deflectors, i would get a cheapy turbo muffler or a flowmaster.

Default exhaust

I tried a Flowmaster Delta 40 series and did not have a postive experience. One or more of the deflectors came loose and made horrible rattling and screeching sounds. This happened after only about a year and a half of use. I wouldn't have thought badly if that happened after 3 or 4 years. Since then I've used Dynomax Ultra Flow SS, and Magnaflow SS mufflers and they have been long lasting nice sounding mufflers. They are both loud but not as loud as the Flowmaster.
The Dynomax Ultra Flow was the quietest.

Best regards,

The Dynomax was quieter than my Magnaflow. The UltraFlow is more a traditional muffler
shape. The Magnaflow I used is more like a cylinder design so that's probably why it's
a bit louder.

I have a Dynomax Super Turbo on my B230 and I don't really like the sound. Makes my car sound like it's running bad....

I have a 2.5" System on my 244 that i had installed when my car was turbo... I was running a magnoflow and quite happy with the sound! Alittle on the loud side but it didn't sound that bad. I've gone back to N/A now and i've kept the 2.5" exhaust. I've insatlled a 2nd glasspack on the system to try quiet it down.. it's now a bit quieter then the turbo setup but I'm not totally satisfied with the sound, just doesn't sound as mean at the turbo but maybe you can't get away from that.

I would recommend installing a glasspack or something though,, unless you wanna be really loud! My magnaflow was a 6" round by the way (they get quieter the bigger they get).

Hit the shop today. Had already decided to go with a Magnaflow SS dual outlet, free flow cat, and a glasspack. Found out that it would be well over $350 just for SS pipe and installation, not including anything else... ouch

dont get ss...just get aluminized steel and paint it before final install with barbeque paint or exhaust paint...that'll prevent the welds from rusting and stuff like that
