Default endurance race cooling using OEM equipment???

Cant add any performance parts as per rules. Was thinking of runnin coolant thru the evap core. Anything to help cool it on a 1.9 mile road course. Getting lines made is easy. Has anyone done this? Results. I searched but really didnt know what to put.

Buy a 3 core brass or aluminum and paint the tanks black so they look like plastic.

Bypass the heater valve, or switch to a four port. This will keep head temps more even, increase overall cooling capacity and reduce coolant pressure. And yes YMM would help us help you.

I use since years the Nissen cooler, filled with osmozed water + high quality anti-freeze (Total racing fluid). My car don't have any heating issue now...

Stock radiator worked fine in our 240.

Lack of details gets relatively useless responses, though.

240 series - I run a diesel radiator that has had a 3-row 16 fin/inch core installed. Looks stock.

what makes you think its going to over heat. the stock cooling system is more than adequate for cooling the engine even in hot temperatures and high loads.

do you have a blown head gasket? a blown head gasket will put a lot of heat into your coolant.

Im starting a chumpcar. 92 940 turbo. has electric fan. Cant run coolant or water wetter etc. already ditched heater valve and orig hoses. fan is always on ( workin to reroute ducts to either on driver or out window). Also trying to find extension housing with fitttings to run OEM cooler. Car cant be changed from stock type setup without penaly laps. You tell me where to find a diesel 940 radiator and i'll plunk the coin down.

Well I was more or less prying. Wondering do they actually want you to run straight water? Or did you just mean to say no performance coolants?

Likely a safety race rule. antifreeze makes roadway slick when spilled/puked on the track

Makes sense. I know drag strips wont let you take a pull if your car is leaking at all. And if you leak on the track you get fined. I saw this honda kid blow up his b16 at RMR and he had to pay $80 clean up fee. This is even more important on a circuit where lateral acceleration is taking place.

"Cant run coolant" What is it - an air cooled engine series? Gonna be hard to keep it cool without coolant. Suspect you meant you can't run antifreeze. WATER is the coolant.

The stock 9 series radiators that came in the turbo cars should be more than sufficient. And most of us have run the heater on full blast to help.

the big 940 turbo rad is plenty. use a 82C t-stat and it should do fine.
