I think basically it's down to Travis at Fast Specialties, or Aaron at English - they're both tractor tolerant and good guys from what I've seen. As Nathan asked above, it's a matter of finding a shop that's familiar and comfortable tuning on whatever EMS you are running.

Back when I needed to dyno tune my 914 with MS, I called a few local shops, I was shocked when they wouldn't let me dyno the car because they didn't know MS...I told them I do, so I'll be pushing the buttons on the laptop...no go. I hope they are out of business by now

That is smart on their end. Not saying you would, but it would be way too easy for someone to file a suit against them if they/their car got hurt on the dyno.

Im not running any stand alone setup, just LH2.4 with TLAO on a 563 and TLAO on my gold box 207. I dont know enough about Ostrich, but I would like to learn more.

I would love to get a tune, but for starters I just want to see where Im at

Derrr- no. Most dyno shops have you sign a waiver to the effect of agreeing that any damage that may occur to the car/people/shop is your fault.

You let me know when a waiver has actually held up in court. You can never sign away your right to sue. Remember this is sue happy america.

They absolutely hold up. Google "dyno waiver" for hours of entertaining forum threads about retarded people doing retarded things at dyno shops and the shop being saved thanks to the waiver. Happens absolutely all the time.

There's no way in hell any shop could ever even justify operating a dyno if they were ultimately liable for damages to the vehicle or shop. Cars explode on the dyno all the damned time for any manner of reasons.

Ok, let me pump the brakes for a second. You are correct in your statement. I was referring to a shop letting someone other than an employee do dyno tuning on their equipment. Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Nope. If a person is doing their own tuning, then the issue of liability being with the owner is even more clear cut.

Trained employees obviously set up the car on the dyno and actually "operate" the dyno, no matter who is tuning the car. Ensuring the dyno is run properly and safely is completely unrelated to what system is being tuned, or who is tuning it.

But for getting a base line on LH, call around to the 3 shops and see what 3 pulls cost. Cuz you wont be doing any tuning yet.

Edit for Portland speed pricing. $80 ish for a 3 pull baseline. $150 an hour to have them tune it.

We went to Forged Performance a couple of years ago as a group, too. We should get a group dyno day up and running sometime in the next couple of months.

One of the problems is a good "adjustable" 4-wheel dyno. Meaning able to adjust length between the rollers to fit the AWD Volvos.
