Default turbo actuator tension??

So I finally got around to installing my new 15G from "tryingbe" and took the car for a drive and it won't build boost. When I was installing the turbo I was able to slide the actuator arm over the wastegate hinge without any effort. Put the clip in and moved on. Tryingbe told me the turbo would come pre-set for 7psi or so and would need no adjustment so I assumed this was how the actuator arm was supposed to feel being clipped back on. The rod IS adjustable but I'm assuing this came off an 850 and was already set at the right tension. Maybe the revised mounting location caused an issue where the wastegate is either too close or not close enough?

Can someone verify/debunk this?

It sounds like it is too loose. Tighten it up and use something like a bicycle pump with a gauge to test the setting. It should just start to open the wastegate with the desired psi applied to the wategate.

sadly, I don't have a bicycle pump or vacuum tester here at my garage. I'm taking it to the shop tomorrow to have the ac system leak-tested. I think I'll take a look at it once it's on their lift.

If you have a boost gauge just start slowly adjusting the wastegate arm shorter until you get the desired boost level.

The last thing I want to do is be anywhere near that exhaust after hitting boost. I'll have to make like 1 adjustment every 3 hours.

Tighten the son of a bitch up as far as it'll get. Then set your MBC so it'll open easy. Slowly tighten your MBC 'till you get desired boost level. You do have an MBC on there right? And you do have a boost gauge , right? I hope you have a wideband on there too. Put these things on the list pronto. Save some trouble later if you don't.
