how hard is it to put a 16v head on a b230ft? and how much better is the 16v over the 8v?

It's not easy, it's expensive, and there are better ways to increase power.

Exactly. There is sooo much more aftermarket for SOHC volvos than the 16v. Biggest thing is, plan on fabbing an exhaust manifold, and some other fitment things.

I like like the 8v's and I think there is a couple of neat things about them, but they make it more application specific.

All in all, there nothing wrong w/ a well ported 8v.

hmm ... I like the 16v ... people in sweden claim it flows to almost 400hp unmodified.

Hi

To add a 16 valve head to a B230 bottom end. The head bolts straight on. Exhaust manifold from volvo or aftermarket. Timing Belt Tensioner from here www.ovlov.net/products_2.html. Aftermarket computer and some fabrication go to this link for more information

stock 16v flows better than much ported 531 with big valves.

No your right, I know they will.

But, that being said, a well port 8v will work in most apps to unless you can build a header, and do more fab work than I can do.

Just throwing that option out. I agree, for an all out volvonater 16v is the way to go.
