ACHTUNG ACHTUNG! Der Fuhrer...er I have taken over the EvW challenge. There will be some rule changes associated with this regime change.
First off, no bull****. Zero tollerance. Think I'm kidding? just try me.
Second, if you have a problem PM ME. *DO NOT* clutter this thread up with bitching and moaning. I want to see times and times only. post your excuses elsewhere
If you do not adhere to these rules your time WILL NOT BE COUNTED you have been warned.

and if i total things incorrectly, do inform me in a pm, without the calc i might add too many of one and not enough of the other..

Lets get down to business gentlemen, go run and rep your coast!

i'll be updating this section shortly with more current times and names

Can't wait to get to the track, I've got lots of practicing and learning to do....

Turbocharge it, and instead of the typhoon, or syclone, we will call it the “light breeze” -mrsam740 referring to the Oldsmobile 4.3 diesel

Can you switch which car midway through? I'm going to run the 850R sometime, it should be low 14/high13 with its mods, but I want to run the 242's once they're done (AQ151 and AQ171 swaps), but not sure if they'll be done in time. One should be.....

Personally I'd only make it open to RWD volvo's, because this forum is kinda deticated to 2/7/900's, older ones are also allowed cause they're just pimp. But Pat's the boss in this thread. I'd at least say nothing newer than an 850?? I dunno.

the FWD folks have the same problems breaking into the 13's as we do.. they're just faster out of the box
an AWD volvo should get more points... those things are slow as hell and major props for any of them getting below 14.5 (yes that means you new R owners too )

Using a mix of parts on my 85 740 I ran a best of 14.25@96 last night. 9.14 1/8 @76. 2.10 60ft.

93 N/A bottom end(stock)
87 530 turbo head
v15
NPR
browntops...stock Lh 2.2 no rrfpr, race gas( A/F is way off)
only 11-12 psi boost

stock convertor/transmission, no LSD, junkyard motor, stock volvo T3 turbo...fastest f+T swap not using MS I think. Soon to be the fastest F+T I hope!

Thanks to Ronnie, John, Mike and David for helping me with the yellowbeast...and also for all of your advice on tbricks, thanks for all the info linuxman. Go turbo all you N/A guys and don't look back!

Later,

Jon

Default You guys have fun

Those of us who don't live on a coast will watch this spectacle with envious attention. We will be so interested in see which coast comes out on top that we won't have time to work on our Volvos. Seriously, it's so interesting to hear what's happening on the coasts.

Shhhh. What's that sound? It's your cars pinging to death when they come up to altitude. Doh! Edit: I guess our cars would ping at your altitudes, oops. Just thought of that. Okay, I'll try to think up a different insult.

Okay, before you get all pissy on me, that was called trash talk.

In other words, I'm picking up the gauntlet that you coasties threw down and I'll send in my timeslip this summer, too, but it won't be any crappy coast timeslip. It'll be speed at 5800 feet.

Crap, now I gotta go back this smack up. Off to the garage!
