UPDATE to classifieds and offtopic "view as guest"

Changed the forum permissions to allow guests to "view only" offtopic. This will allow search engines to index all of our content.

This will also change for the classifieds in 1 week! so...

1. If you have private personal information in classifieds, please edit it out.
2. if you would like something deleted or removed, please use the report post function.
 
There is so much stuff that needs to get deleted from OT. I don't even know where to begin :please:
 
just so we're clear, the purpose of this is to remove your personal info from your for-sale threads or delete your forsale threads all together.

The search feature is limited to 2 pages of results.

Have fun flipping through each page all the way back to your join date.

Just remember kiddies there are no secrets on the internet.
 
I don't like the classifieds being opened up. The only advantage is that you might see a sale or two from those who are too lazy to take the 60 seconds to join the forum.
If people are too lazy to join the forum are they seriously someone who is spending real money on their car?
 
Why do we want the world to see OT? I can understand the classifieds to some degree. To be honest, the private For Sale forum was the thing that finally made me join TB after years of Group A goading me to join the original email list.

Guess I'll sanitize my history in those forums. Will you honor requests to delete content that another poster may have "QFT'd"?
 
I'll put the classifieds up for a vote. I see the point of view about being able to keep it "internal". The advantage of opening it up is to get people searching google for things like "240 sway bar for sale" and hopefully sell your item.

This was a similar approach with a different board i am on however it was reverted back to private quickly after a month due to rash of scams/ripoffs. Paypal will not always protect you on either side of the deal. I have been ****ed over both ways. Traffic awareness did increase on the board. You would have to register to see 3 different forums not open to viewers which were commerce corner, NSFW(no hardcore porn) and politics. It works well.
 
Another note. The curvy girl thread looks like it will be public here so if you are married or are in a serious relationship with somebody that doesn't like this sorta thing. Better delete yourself from it quick. :lol:
