Added to the site resources page:
http://www.turbobricks.com/resources...tent=turbodata ----------------------------------------------------- My buddy John Lunsford (wicked 600rwhp mkIII supra) put together a nice list of common turbo sizings on his website. I took the liberty of leeching it off there and putting it into an Excel spreadsheet. So here it is, in all its glory. I boldfaced the common Volvo turbos. http://www.red-team.com/bitjockey/turbo_data.xls <edit> Here it is in HTML, for you dorks that don't have Excel... http://www.red-team.com/bitjockey/turbo_data.html Oh, and I just was shown this wonderful site by Dolex... http://asp.turbo.com.sg/p_volvo.asp Want to go junkyard hunting? Here's what you need. A list of all the turbos on all Volvos from the 740 series on. Enjoy!

Just wanted to say thank you to you and many others (Philip Bradley) who helped me with sizing issues. I think this belongs on the main site now. There is no controversy about the #'s and it would make a good base of mods along with the compressor efficiency maps we have. So thanks, and hopefully Dana can help put this on the main page for new commers looking for some easily compatable and well sized turbos.

Here's a start. I don't feel like entering all the data, but I'm sure someone else does.

It is an easy way to quickly see a size comparison of the turbo. Basically the A/R of the intake and exhaust sides averaged together.

AFAIK the mitsu turbo designations are just that, numbers. Bigger number, bigger turbo. Of course, I dont know what im talking about. :yikes:

Letters denote compressor profile generally.

Looking at the chart it looks like the much touted 15g mod only give a performance similar to a .48 trim T3. Am I reading this wrong? If I'm not this sort of bites.. What is the Mitsu equiv of a 60 trim T3 or a 3/4 hybrid that fit's the 90 exhaust manifold..
Please let me know Thanks Renny

the way i under stand it is that all the 15C, 14B, 17G's are all mitsubishi turbo's, but garrett and other brands don't use that label, they just go by the trim size

Thanks for the update. I had a couple of other responses on other threads. From what I get the 15G is roughly the same size compressor as the stock Volvo garret but becuase of the better turbine design it has a wider operating range - boost comes on lower and stays through higher rpm without overheating the charge. This looks like the right combo for now - should be good for 18 to 20 psi. When I need more then I'll work on the To4 that I have.
Thanks Renny |

Hey! Where's the .42 trim T3?
Also, does anyone know about the square flange Garrett compressor with the divider in the inlet? <edit> My bad. I meant turbine housing.

The 15G from the 850's should be more or less the same size as a garrett T3. A 18T or 19T(not listed on the chart but slightly larger than a 18T) would be slightly smaller than a T3/4 hybrid.
