Recently purchased '99 V70 as certified car from dealer and am looking for info on alarm. User's manual suggests that alarm is standard, and car has LED alarm indicator on dash, but keyless control does not have red panic button on it; LED indicator never flashes when car is locked; and testing for alarm by opening locked car doesn't sound alarm.
Just wondering what the story is.

My gf's 850 and her parents 2000 c70 is like that as well. I think the alarm mostly extends to a started disable. My S60 will go crazy should you lock the door and leave it open, or unlock it w/ the alarm active by hand and then open the door.
Good luck, Doug

I have a 99 V70 also and do not have an alarm system. Check under the hood against the firewall, I believe that if there was an alarm installed there should be a alarm horn there, otherwise just a cable plugged into a dummy plug.
