Default So.... I made a beadroller!

The construction is pretty obvious for anyone who wants to give it shot themselves, the discs you can get from mcmaster, they're 2x1" steel discs. If there's sufficient interest though I'll write a little guide!

Oh ya, I made the wheels freehand with the disc chucked in a drill, the drill clamped in the vice, and I cut the material with my angle grinder . Obviously if you have a lathe, you're way way better off!

edit:// now i gotta find my aluminum polish!

shows how tired i am, i read the title as So.... I made a breadroller!

then sat here wondering what a breadroller had to do with putting liips on IC pipes and isn't a bit dirty to putting bread in a vice outside......

but very nice job

That's wicked, I've never seen one like it. The only homebrew bead-maker I've ever heard of was to take some old vice grips, grind a dip into one side and weld a bead into the other. Voila! Ghetto bead maker. Yours definitely gets the pimp factor though!

Default Even easier and more adaptable--->

Even simpler, and cheaper, since you don't BUY anything, and more versatiule, since it ISN't anything, is to run a short weld BEAD at two or three positions in the same place.

Amazingly, it works on all size tubing and you can do it on all wall ticknesses, and all materials.

Once the hose is in position, you'll never know the difference.

Double-sooooper secret ghetto.

If a person were screwing around with custom intercooler piping and tank fabbing and car junk in general, it seems a wise person might find a welder they can get along with and also afford.

The beauty if the short weld bead is it is transferable.
It can be done on thin wall steel, thick wall, stainless etc, and it can be done for small 1 1/4 radiator sized hoses, or even 5/8 heater size.

Concept boys, concept.

It should go without saying that the full rolled bead is pretty, I am just suggesting something for those who might have an open mind to use on some of the set ups I've seen which have NOTHING.

I've been scuffing the ends of my aluminum piping and adding an epoxy bead.
