It's not as hard as some think to get VWs to go that fast, they weight like nothing, and once you have the right sort of power they actually even launch really well.
I've seen a VW around here that has a WRX motor, and it pulls easy high 11s even though it still looks very stock.

bug weighs 1500, then if you wanna add some fiberglass you can get it down to 1300. All it takes is 250HP and your set.

Still, it's an air-cooled engine, so 250 hp is quite an accomplishment.

I've seen that one before too. The one I was talking about was a 13BT...that one is a 12A. Leave it to a 12A to make a bug's engine bay look big.
