y does that intake manifold look odd

and engine specs? power goals?

that's barely 1/2 of what you need to run, need to wire it, plumb it, and then tune

Looks like a little additional plenum volume was added to the backside.

Or is it because the breather box is black too and kind of blends in?

No, that's not it... It doesn't bolt to the head... how bizarre.

Stupid question but is the turbo going to fit in the engine bay oriented like that? That's one of those SSautochrome headers with the flange upside down...

It does bolt up

it was cut apart and boxed up, hopefully hold/flow more air, hopefully help on the top end,,,,

have done similar things with small block chevy intakes with positive results

eventually we will fab an entirely new intake as I just got a nice tig welder...we had this and this, as well as the ported head was left over from my Volvo project,,,,I sold the car years ago

ohh man how it brings a tear to my eye to have been one of the original t brickers on this forum sooooo many years ago...

I'm not trying to start a flame war, but I'm seriously wondering which will fail first: the XS Power turbo or the SSAC header. My sincerest best luck to you!

I had a 7.5 inch rear axle (ring gear) in my 1985 Camaro

I ran slicks with it, car went 12.50s on street tires

I can not tell you - how many times, how many people told me the rear axle would fail

It was all used GM parts that I disassembled, cleaned and put back together, rear was in the car for 5 years, never had a problem.

My fathers 68 Camaro, sick motor, all new parts etc etc he just ripped out two rocker arm studs within the first few days of running it...everything was correct, spring pressure, valve adjustment etc,,,stuff happens

Used GM parts and cheap turbos epoxy'ed together in China are two totally different stories though.
