Roy 940 11-10-2011 06:00 PM

No no, just Bosch "red" coil ( I don't remember the numbers ), and without MSD Blaster...
I never had any issue with this ignition setup...

Thanks! I like to do it! When I've time, I'll mod my other head, with bigger ports :-P

Harlard 11-11-2011 03:42 AM

Might have to send you some of my own hardware then :-P

Also, pics of your Renault?

MadDog_945 11-11-2011 03:54 AM

You should go for 15g with straight flange..

That conical housing is crap... have the same here... bottleneck...

how did ya do the portwork? tools?

Harlard 11-11-2011 05:35 AM

Actually that conical housing looks more open than a stock flat flange.

Right, I had open it more then a flat one... But it is possible to port it a bit more, but I was affraid to do it... I think the lifetime will be reduce too much!

About tooling, just "normal" carbide tool, + a lot of sand paper and 3M Scotchbrite ( and oil )... Ah, and a lot of time...

the portwork rly looks great.. but the problem with conical housings.. you can see it on your pics.. the crack between turbine and wastegate... its almost factory.. but gets bigger.... even more when used under performance..

/edit

do you have also ported your manifold?` when i c your flange its heavily ported ;)

Roy 940 11-11-2011 07:47 AM

Yes, you're right about cracks...but what I've seen ( and read ), it's not a problem...

It's a pic of my manifold in a previous post, you can see how it's ported...;-)

Roy 940 11-11-2011 06:51 PM

Leaky water pump fixed tonight... And I add new special anti-freeze + osmozed water, to improve cooling efficiency

cookiemonster 11-11-2011 07:43 PM
