indeed, people in North America don't treat the 700's the same as the Swedes, there are still some who are really into 'em, but the difficulty of sourcing any sort of performance parts put most away, not to mention most can't afford the parts even if they are available.

here's one of my favs and he's on the board

i wonder how many hours those cars in the pics near the top of this page have in the fenders/rear quarter panels. that work is uber sick. Nothing like huge lips and pulled/flared panels to accomodate em.

Manbeard 07-05-2010 09:57 PM

sam i think i like this thread more than your infamous chigga (:oogle:) threads of the past.

the 700/900's are a bitch to pull like that, basically you gotta cut opening on the belt line and pull it from there then add more cuts to the rear quarters, rear doors, front doors, I showed it to my friend at the body shop and asking how hard it'll be, he basically told me he rather make new mold for wide body kit.

the estimate is around 8-10 hours per pane, so you got 8 in total (2 front fenders, 2x front doors, 2 x rear doors, 2 x rear quarters), and add the side skirts and front and rear bumpers need to be re-shape, you are looking close at 100 hours? if you gotta do it outside, it'll probably run $5000-6000. then plus paint and all that, I can see why these guys did it themselves.

I think this car was posted before, the wheel choice is not my thing, but the work it has gone into this car is really amazing, look at the engine bay! If I read it right, its an S60R engine with K27 upgrade mated to Getrag 265

I wish I have 1/2 of their knowledge and skills
