Im REALLY digging the ssh out of this one, lot of lowrider influences in the paint and the Astro Supreme wheels look absolutely baller on a 240, why did I sell mine :-(

I have the original portfolio/brochure about this car. One of my favorites cause it's just SO ugly.

Does anyone else think that the C pillar,side windows,rear glass, and trunk lid favor the 740's more than the 240's?

It does to me.

oh yeah, that thing screams 740... mixed with a bit of k-car...
and aircraft carrier: could land a jet on those bumpers...

There was talk of legislation along the lines of ensuring the occupants survived a 50mph(?) crash - a big ask in the early 1970s!

Believe it or not, Volvo's effort was widely lauded for being the most attractive of the prototypes produced. - I kind a suspect that the other manufacturers deliberately made thier prototypes ugly in an attempt to kill the legislation.
The Volvo's front end was particularly praised, so it was little wonder that they used a toned-down version on the 200s.

Wheels are more Porsche Fuchs than anything else (to my eyes anyhow).

It was a pedestrian, not a wall.

Looks more like a Janis Joplin influenced paint job to me.
