There are plenty of 240s on TB with "actual paintjobs"

Since you know which 240s were sprayed with Maaco jobs why not name the members? I only know of two members on TB that had their cars done at Maaco and they look real nice.

Who do you know?

Adrianpike's red wagon was. It's about 10 years old and looks like a 10 year old Maaco job.

Nothing wrong with Maaco paint, especially if you do your own prep work.

+1 it's all in the prep. A $300 paint job can look like a $1,000 paint job, or better, with quality prep work. Most places will lightly sand, (if that) then spray.

Smurfy! :-D
Like the weathershields, don't think I've even seen that style for a 240 before!
Although maybe Betty's not the expect colour (*bambalam*)? :)

Looks non-Volvo to me. edit: I think it's a 1JZ.

Crazychopstick 05-23-2011 12:09 PM

1JZ, no sh*t

loserock 05-23-2011 08:46 PM

Thanks for all the feedback. Its a 1JZ-GTE (Twin Turbo) from a '96 Toyota Chaser. They're little turbos but thay pack a punch :)

BTW, I bought her like this. The previous owner spent all the money and couldn't afford to keet her...now she's mine!

This is how she looked when i first bought her:

Boring, eh? Anyone want a set of 16" "Speedy Wheels"?

Volvo240_TX 05-24-2011 12:46 AM

Loserock, Betty's definitely a winner. If I were you, I'd make sure to hang on to her. Great looking wagon.

loserock 05-24-2011 01:26 AM

THANKS! Yeah, she's a keeper. I'll never get back the money I've already put into her.
