Can you pull the actuator rod back (wg open) easily by hand? If yes it's probably time to replace. Also try to get rid of the flex in the reclocking bracket, that adds to sluggish boost.

Simons is a good fit (at least on turbo models). IMO it seems less prone to rust than the cheap aftermarket stock systems that tend to rust through at the welds in our climate....
