It's really easy to check what's needed by installing just the bellhousing and looking through the center hole or the clutch fork...

Just mark where the rotor is pointing at on the body. Then lift up the distributor and rotate the rotor one tooth, then push it back down and align the rotor to your mark....

Being able to change the # of poles is really neat, especially if you can reduce back EMF at higher speeds.
