I put Koni Sport Adjust shocks on all 4 corners, Didn't know how bad the old shocks were until my wife would not ride in the car. Best thing that I did once I got them adjusted.

I just did a job with the same issues, customer just had the carbs rebuilt by a"shop". the throttle plates were worn, no matter how much you backed off the idle screw. Air leaked around the sides....
