Of the stuff you can do to wake up a non turbo 240 economically, opening up the exhaust would not be on my list. Stock manifold+downpipe is pretty good. Stick to cam+compression, or just a cam.

That's fair. Could certainly be some sort of tradeoff that doesn't make sense in an OEM application but works for more of an aftermarket performance setup. I'd love to see someone test one of these...
