That welding sport removal tool is very very useful.. never had thought about it being so good at it ! Centerpunch with autopuncher, drill 2mm hole in the frame as guide and then mill the **** out of it.. took me like 3 minutes to remove that framesheet for the IC

Kudos to you for loving your car enough to fix that. I've cut in pieces much better 940 shells...which I'm starting to regret considering how scarce they're becoming 'round here.

Come to think of it... Never seen a 87+ 760 or -95 960 that has rusted, while quite a bit of 940's are gone by now. My theory is way better rustproofing at Kalmar, while most of 940's were made in Ghent... or is there more to it?

It is Swedenmade.. The Problem with this Bathtube is, that Dealership Hausser(now Toyota Dealer) mounted the Bodykit with ****ing SPAX screws to the doorsill back then.

But if you look to the front frame, there is some Rust which the '95 and '96 960 and '89 764 from my father does not show.

Did you park it at the bottom of the sea or something? Well done that you're fixing it

Some updates:

rear end is derusted and seamwelded. Front left framecarrier opened, derusted and welded shut again...

I watched for penetration, not for the beauty of the welds ;) I grinded only because of removing excess and to look for penetrationerrors.

Further i decided to fix all opened rust sites, then rent a dryiceblaster, strip all the bodyprotection and look for more rustspots after that. My preferred Bodyprotection will be Brantho Korrux 3in1 Glimmeranthrazit which will be also the new enginebay color. You can see some of it on the welded front frame. It is also the same stuff i painted the axle and suspensions parts with. It is kind of my desired "theme" of the car.

left front sillboard "finished" It is rustyred for now but will be blasted and also be painted in 3in1 Brantho. That color will be covered by the hausser skirts anyway :)

uh.. guys... i dont want to do sheetmetalwork anymore.. it sucks! just want to drive this pile... i kinda must admit i underestimated this project a bit.. kind of frustrating sitting all the time under the car fixing rustproblems and reveal new ones while fixing others ^^ i also stopped being too finicky with small spots.. grind, flush, paint ;)

That's how I felt when I decided to do a new engine, new exhaust, new front suspension/steering, new brakes, new interior, new EMS, and new air conditioning all at once. :owned:

haha :D this sounds like the red line of my whole project ;)

so.. updates ! left wheelarch done...
