Yellow 95 T5-R - "The project thread"

3 days of driving this car, and all i can say is wow...it is so solid...so much more solid than my black was...it just screams, making me think it's got an aftermarket ecu tune of sorts...it's not as fast as my black one ended up being, but it's faster than my black one started out with.
it doesn't have that tell tale T5-R tune of late boost, the boost just come on full right away...

It's so nice...

The honeymoon continues...iphone night shot...not so bad:

You'll know for sure this afternoon.

hehe...I totally got your sarcasm...

I'm as unstock as they come...just can't leave well enough alone...ever

ok, well ECU question answered, this yellow is bone stock.

After Captain Bondo's EPIC Dyno pull, (I'll save the numbers for him...it will knock your socks off), I pulled onto the dyno for a couple quick pulls to see how "stock" the Yellow is, and it's bone stock...
159whp/187tq
So given auto loss etc...that's bang on 240crank, what these things have stock.
Pretty excited to have baseline numbers, also very impressed that a 14 year old car is holding onto it's power.
And then, even more excited to know I've got 80whp worth of upgrades on Darth that will just swap on over...ahh...good times!

Today was a freaking great day...on so many levels.
1. Spent a good few hours with old darth pulling whatever I felt was "bolt" on. (reason being was that insurance settlement came through for my car, but I wasn't getting my car back, but I was given the chance to remove a few "select" things before it went to salvage...BUT...more on that in a sec)
Results of said stripping are here:

The "RIP" bucket

Captain Bondo was nice enough to come down and help out speeding things up.
I was happy with what I managed to pull, but sad that I was leaving behind my manual tranny with the brand new LSD, IPD sways, EST Exhaust, (we just couldn't budge it although as you can see we got the DP off), and a few other bits...
BUT - As I'm driving home, the insurance company calls, and I press one final time asking them to let me buy the car back from them. After a bit of discussing, they admited it was not a legal issue, but a liability/audit issue. As soon as I heard that I just pressed hard to find the $$ amount to them that would make the "audit" issue go away...and in the end, a fair $$ amount was agreed upon, and I GET MY CAR BACK!!! WHOOOT...so all that work stripping wasn't necessary, but I didn't care...I'm jacked...tomorrow it gets towed to my house, and next month I start stripping bits I want, and then selling everything else. The motor will go, interior etc...so stay tuned for the for sale thread. I've had a few people PM me about "dibs", but in all fairness, I hadn't decided to sell anything, so it will be a first come once posted for sale.

In the mean time, I'll be swapping a fair bit onto the yellow on Saturday of what you see in the pictures, so more pics to come...I soooo feel like I made the right decision in sticking with another 850...and for once...I feel like I'm getting a fair deal...
Peace out...

I'm glad it all worked out. I look forward to seeing this yellow turn into an even cleaner, nicer faster wagon than the black. I also envy your ability to go " oh jeez, I wrecked my t5r. Oh well, I'll just go buy another one..." but in all seriousness I'm glad it all worked out.

ya...I have no clue how it managed to work out this way...I feel like I should buy a lottery ticket...such a fluke...

And so it begins...

Couldn't resist this morning spending 5 minutes putting on the eggcrate...

Tomorrow is my birthday, and my family is out of town, so I am going to spend the whole day swapping all the "bolt" on stuff across. I couldn't think of a better birthday present.

If any of the locals want to come over, they are more than welcome. Darth will be in the garage, and if you want parts, you could probably come get em...PM me for address...
