I am trying to fill a small but relatively deep dent (about 1" from previous owner transporting furniture with small feet (without racks) on the roof of my 245. Since bondo/most fillers say dont go thicker than 1/4" thick is there a special kind of filler for a thicker application? Like the ones with fiber glass, carbon fiber or metal? Anyone have experience and tips on this? Thanks in advance. showing similar picture of dents as an example (mine is deeper but about same diameter)

Honestly I think you'll need to look at flattening out those dents first rather than just filling them with bondo. You'll need to paint anyway after the filler job, so that's not a concern, and there's a reason the fillers say not to go too thick - if you layer it on that much it just cracks and falls off after a while, no matter what's in it. Don't have to get it perfectly flat, just enough that the filler layer is minimal (1/4" is still a lot!)

Those dents may be too big for this, but...

Eastwood is a pretty reputable company.

i have used a aluminium hammer and on the outside a steel block and flattend them enough to bondo them or idk how to say it in englisch Verzinnen like tin plating

Borrow, rent or pay a shop to do the pulling with one of these. Then you can fill away.

What part of the country are you in? A hail specialist would be able to PDR that. After storms, these guys rent out big buildings here, pump out hundreds of cars in a couple of weeks. You'd never know they've been pummeled by 3" diameter death missiles. These guys usually follow the storms around all summer.

Oreillys carry’s a dent fix kit, one of those as seen on tv things called a “Ding King”. I would try that for $20 rather than buy a bunch of filler that will inevitably fail

Agree 100% with this. Even if you have some broken paint to deal with afterwards, a good PDR tech should be able to get those out to nearly perfect if not perfect.

+1. I?ve gone this route in the past and had surprisingly good luck.

Used to work next door to a Toyota dealership outside of Boston. They?d bring in a group of PDR guys to fix the cars on the lot after hailstorms. I mentioned to a facilities guy that I had a daily driver with some hail damage, and he got me into the PDR queue without batting an eye. I got the impression that employees were doing this with their personal cars too.

Turnaround was fast, work was shockingly good, and the cash price was very reasonable.
