Tore it down, cause I was curious.

I'd buy an HG set from the dealer. The elring HG and exhaust manifold gaskets are not as nice....

i remember when i bought all that crap for my B230FK thats still on the stand..
Hope you put in on there sooner :D

I'd steer clear of those URO 274111 motor mounts for your application... They are just OK on a stock 240, but on anything making over say 100hp I wouldn't bother with them. Sure they're super cheap, but swapping mounts sucks.

Meh, It'll be fine.
I'd do a S60R MLS gasket before I spent money on the reg HG at the dealer.
(And I don't think they sell an HG set anyway)

OEM headgasket is like $50 from Tasca IIRC... the difference to piece it all together using genuine parts is about $40. BTDT, compared the 2, will always go dealer on gaskets now.
Your car your money though just thought I'd mention it.

Also my car has been on Scamtech motor mounts since the beginning, they're like new still.

They work fine if you don't use the rediculous volvo 240 mount locations, and use a 3rd mount.

Alex and I used the ****tiest Scantech mounts with the 960 uppers and the engine was as solid as can be. The stock engine mount configuration in a 240 is more than slightly retarded.

Got some measurements before dropping the M47 off to its new owner.
205124_10100166043115229_16818372_48923708_8243647_n.jpg

The M90 total length (bellhousing to output flange) is 57mm shorter than the M47
M90 output flange to shift center is 250mm
M47 output flange to shift center is 95mm
Of course these measurements only help assuming the bellhousing flange is in the same position fore/aft as the M47 originally mounted in the car.

Also realized the starter on the redblock is the same series as the whiteblock starter. I can use the parts out of the 2 year old bosch redblock starter to rebuild the whiteblock one I've got.
