Default EV turbobrick - the turbobrick way?

Since I'm still kind of stoked on the idea of building a hybrid/full EV turbobrick, let's have a discussion on how to do it with cheap junkyard/Chinese parts.

Stuff I've ran into:
Fork truckmotor on the driveshaft

Chinese hub motors for the front wheels maybe?

Tesla motor, this guy is doing a pretty cool job with those in his shed, recommended watch:p

Mercedes 48v e-alternator setup, fast and simple but weak?

Theoretical benchrace budget let's say 2-3k including some Chevy volt batteries, or a DIY laptop battery pack. Tesla stuff is also good but $$$ from what I've seen, in a wagon the spare wheel well should provide plenty of space with decent weight distribution
Volvo 745 - IPD springs, 25mm/19mm swaybars, T-cam, LH2.4, M90 swap, 3.54 \w racingdiff lsd, track/daily
I sell LH2.4 Chips for Europe!
