I Kinda Bought a 945 Turbo

Took the TSW Blades out of storage and put tires on them, as well as got some tires for a set of Hydras. They will go on the old car to be sold. :(

I love how all this fits in the wagon! :-)

Swapping as much good stuff from the gold car as possible, including the intake and the HIDs.

This was a lot more annoying and sketchy to do than I thought. Installed the OEM Roma wheel in place of the ugly, stock steering wheel. Still feel uneasy about taking out the airbag though...

Started the process of putting in fender sidemarkers. Just waiting on the wiring to come in now.

Next up was swapping the TLAO exhaust from the gold car over. The lady and I drove the cars to her dad's shop. She thought the 740 was fun to drive!

Raised the car. Let's look at the dirty underside haha

Here are the two exhausts out.

Nice wagon! Personally, I think the 945t is the best brick you can buy. I had a non-fog front 940 for a long time and it started to grow on me. If you're interested, I have a nice ~91 740 turbo grill if you're interested. It's basically a waterfall grill painted the same gunmetal color as the 940 eggcrate grill. I had one on my old 940:

Now I wish I had kept those TSWs for the 945 I am getting this weekend.
:-P

Thanks for the offer, but I think I'm going to try and swap in the 1990 740 Turbo front end. I know the hoods are different, but let's see how that looks like first!

I thought besides the grill all that was different was the headlight surrounds and the top tab attachment pieces for the grill? They screw into the side of the headlight mounts and have the holes for the clips at the top of the grill. Didn't really look into it though.

It gets complicated. I broke it down for a friend the other day, actually:

Grille 1:
1990 740: Unique grille, headlight trim, hood.

Grille 2:
1991-1992 740, All 940s without fogs: Shared grilles, headlight trims, hood.

Grille 3:
All 940s with fogs: Shared headlight trims, grilles, same hood as Grille 2 cars.

While I still have all three cars...

I can have my own Turbobricker party if I park at my parents' place... (their '89 765T in the background; brother's '94 944 is in Kamloops)

Calgary rust had gotten to the suspension, and both the struts and shocks needed replacement. The fronts were all rusted together, so it took an emergency trip to the junk yard to get it all fixed while the car was stuck at a shop. Bilstein HDs are in on the front now, but the dying HDs in the rear couldn't be removed off the 945 yet. Yikes...

TME Sweden adjustable strut tower brace installed! Had to bend the metal by the driver-side strut tower that held the relays first. Worked out.

You're keeping busy! It's looking great! We should do a hangout again soon.

Got rid of this:

Put these in:

iPd spark plug wires, 3" 012 AMM, AEM DryFlow filter.

Was going to swap in the TLAO silicone cooling system hoses, but ran out of time.
