No he met a nice women, chased her around, fell in love, got married and forgot all about the Greenblock and his rally car propjects.
You want the diesel?
You can have it, you haul it away. It's all clean.

he needs to do what I did....my wife was not really a "car person" until I signed her up for a 2 day driving school (have done this twice now) ....now she is hooked and does not have as much an issue of me spending the time or money on the cars, when I have time and when I have money

If this is up for grabs, I will take it. I promise it will be put to good use.

I'm in Seattle.

The question is where is the rally car project?

I would haul that away for free, even from where I live!

Let me tell Kevvie, and then I'll PM you.
The parts are clean and I think the block was "shake'n'baked' so there may be some charges waiting at the machine shop for the cleaning.

I think I stripped it so maybe I'll charge 2 packs of ciggies for that.

This is not good news at all. I would have hoped to hear "put on a back burner" rather than "forgot all about."

It's Ok, we gotta be realistic and Kevin is very happy and that's the important thing.
He dumped the old 240 wagoon and bought a new Volvo Focus thing so with no wagoon there's no need.
As we look at the dates of the first post---just short of 3 years since it was touched--- its clear the project is forgotten ---except for any eventual machine shop bills for the strip and cleaning---and storage!.

Uh oh... it comes with financial baggage already? I'm gonna have to be in the hole from day 1 on this project, huh.

I'm happy to settle up whatever $$ is owed on it assuming it's in OK shape. I can do packs of cigs too. Is it a D24T block or a D24 block? I can't tell, the pictures from the beginning of the thread are gone so can't see for myself. Is there a coolant neck the size of a heater hose pointing upward from the lower radiator hose connection on the block? Turbo motors have those, NA ones dont.

Is the motor down at your shop? Maybe I will drag Noah down with me and we will try to jog his memory about the 16 valve turbo project he seems to have forgotten about...

It's still rotting at the machine shop.
It was a turbo core.
Give a call and I'll see if when i can get out there to clear it out---assuming its still there!

Thumbs up

UHHHHmmm as I have had several of them ,just so you know if you are going to rev the daylights out of them north of 4800/5000 the camshafts will break!!!! Don t ask me why can t tell you sorry !!!!( most likely bad lubrication) Also had one with the rod sticking thru the side of the block ( from eating a valve) .Not saying it can t be done !!!!! I would love to see yours work !!! I would personally have more faith in the 2.5 5 cyl TDI block . High horsepower has been achieved with that block frequently and seems to hold up far better then the old style 6 cyl .But being able to find one in the U.S is questionable.( I could send you one from the Netherlands)

Ha! I can imagine. Those are their ricers.
