Default B230ft amm /maf

When does the the STD amm/maf run out of resolution when tuning what power levels?

Going to be running ostrich by then end of the month and will prob end up with a 3" arm but was wondering what level the STD maxes out at

I was debating this with Brett. The biggest plug-n-play AMM for lh2.4 is 80mm (the '012')...

Take a look at the MAF datasheet : http://db.tt/TeKDcr0

The '022' is the same diameter as the '016'.

So the two AMMs we can drop in top out at 470kg/hr and 640kg/hr. Anyone know how to translate those figures to power?

Honestly though, there is nothing wrong with shoving your AMM into a larger pipe, so long as you re-tune for it. If you look at the datasheet, a small increase in diameter will result in a rather large increase in measuring range. You will lose some resolution, but thems tha breaks.

those seem rediculous figures considering some folk'll round here make 300hp (wheel) on them airflow meters. it's very well possible that those meters theortically max out at those horsepower figures, but

I know Kenny was observing the MAF voltage, and it seems to max out rather quickly. strange animal it is.

Thanks I've got spare 80 Z32 afm thats 6 pin also but can be used on the ca18det with only 3 terminlas used and also on the sr20det with 4 terminals used so these afms are good for 450bhp as my little with puts down 397whp with one

i would like to give one a try when i get the ostrich as it still runs on the 5.0v signal

what do you chaps think ?

I'm still learning about these things, but I know that AMMs are very non-linear. At low flows, you get a large change in output for a small change in flow, but as the flow increases the change per quantity of air gets a lot smaller. It is my understanding that the AMM is mostly used for idle and cruise, with the ECU relying mostly on a map based on RPM for WOT once the AMM maxes out.

When AMM runs out of its "window", LH starts to tune fuel/air ratio
by using ready-written maps and lambda.
