Default identify cam : JFKA stamp

I thought I was running an ipd turbo cam...

I pulled it today and it's stamped JFKA and has a green band between cyl #1 intake and exhaust lobes.

is this really a K/A grind?!

intake and exhaust lobes are ~47.3 high. I don't have any way of measuring the lift untill I reinstall it... if I'm going to reinstall it.

derp

lift 11.65mm

11.65 lift on both intake and exhaust is what I crudely measured, I guess it could be an ipd turbo cam

checking that

It's out of the car? What does it say on the back of the cam?

the only marking it has on it is on the outer circumference of the tail of the cam. There's no stamp like one would find T or M etc. The JFKA isn't impact stamped like with a hammer and set, it's like dot-matrix printed into the metal, it doesn't look hand written it looks machined.

Kinda strange, I put it back in the car for now it's limping along on one mismatch valve spring and retainer. I'm driving the gray car until I figure out what's to become of the gold one.

It's supposed to be an older batch of ipd cams like pre '03? I don't even know how long the thing's been in the car. I guess I could send a PM to Cameron and see if he knows anything about it.

I'll get some pics of it when I pull it to replaced the valve spring and retainer. I may just drop it in the gray car since I've been driving that.

The IPD turbo cam's I've run were either a VX which was marked with an engraver, a first-gen IPD which was the same, marked PH1, and a later IPD cam with the dot-matrix style stamping around the circumference of the tail of the cam, instead of on the end. That engraving was HG20 or something like that.

Maybe the cam is Just For Kicking Ass?

It's a good dam cam it pulls like hell from 3k till 7k, I just was surprised that it didn't say PH1 on it when I pulled it.

Reviving this thread because I just found the same cam in a used head that I bought recently.

The seller wasn't sure of the origin, but knew that is was aftermarket and assumed IPD.

I measured the lift and got somewhere between 11.5-11.6mm on both intake and exhaust.

Sent photos and those measurements to IPD to see what they though. Their response was that it wasn't one of theirs and that they weren't sure where it was from. They agreed that it didn't seem to match any of the stock grinds, but couldn't help much beyond that.

Any chance someone has sorted out the origin of these cams sometime over the last 10 years?
