I think you'll need to bump out the tunnel on the left side to fit the shifter and rods. I know that's what John Lane had to do on the T-10/Jerico trans.

Just ordered the jtr stealth conversion manual. even If I don't decide to go the sbc route I think it will be a valuable resource. in the meantime, a question for guys that have done the swap. What were some of the most difficult problems to solve?

The JTR book you just purchased (honestly I thought you would have purchased that a two months ago) will detail all of the problems you will have to overcome in great detail.

While you're waiting for it to arrive, head on over to the projects forum and peruse what people have done to make X fit in Y volvo.

No bragging about my own stuff, but my pbase has images of two different v8 engine swaps into a 240 to give you a sense of what you're in for. https://www.pbase.com/740atl
