The Beige Bounce Back - Vol242vo's 242

Thanks fellas!

It’s been tough doing any work on the 242 this winter, we’ve had a lot of snow and it’s just been cold out. After getting one of the headrests in, I had to get the drivers seat mounted to get an idea of what’s to come with the interior.

Update!

Finally had a chance to make some adapter plates out of 1/4? x 3? flat bar to adapt the seat frames the the 240 rails. I had to use 3/8? spacers to make room for the bolts, all the hardware is stainless which looks great. I also redid the engine bay harness as the old loom was dried out and cracking.

The seats really feel amazing and sit just right, so much more head room and no need for a gangster lean.

Nice fastener choice to attach the flatbar to those seats. Don't forget to chamfer those sharp corners (plate radiusing) so to avoid cut knuckles in the future. Bare steel, or are you going to powder coat those plates?

Thank you.

This was just a mock up to test fitment, height, positioning...etc. they?ll be disassembled, smoothed out, and painted before I call it ?done?.

Not a lot going on lately, been posting little updates on IG. I made a little more progress on the intake manifold and had some great weather to get the underside of the hood looking the way I want. I repaired the B pillar chrome trim that had a dent in it and source all new stainless hardware for under the hood.

Overdue Update...

Haven?t updated this thread in awhile however, I?m very much working on the car when I can. Not going to go into much detail, the pictures will speak for themselves.

Although these wheels were already 5x108 I had to drop them off at a machining shop to have the centers opened up to 65.1mm. Now a perfect, hub centric fit.

Looking good Derek. Those wheels are great, I'm jealous

Hey Patrick!

Yeah, I'm pretty excited to get some tires and spacers for the rears so I can mounted them soon! Through IG, I met John Durham, who I believe you might know. He got his current GT from Chase and I know you and Chase exchanged a Volvo or 2, including this one.

Hopefully at some point if you're ever back in Spokane we can have a mini meet, your build is very inspirational!

Ha, I sure do know John. I traded my GT to him (big regret). I actually didn't know Chase ever had a GT, so thats cool. The Spokane Volvo world is very small...

Without reading, I thought- God wood door panels are going to look like ass. And I was right.

But then I kept going and saw the final product! Those turned out really good! I like them

Excellent work
