I wish we were allowed to deviate dimensions, in California. It makes intuitive sense to reduce restriction by increasing pipe size, for example a 3" cat in the middle of a 2.5" system. With cone-shaped transitions, to ease the flow. But that type of free thinking ain't good for us, apparently.
