Default $300 242 turbo project 262

I had a 1976 264 that had been sitting in my garage for the past 3 years. I had been slowly gathering parts to try and fix it, however the major obstacle was the rust and the rusted out windshield that would require major repairs. I was tagged on a Volvos of KC forum post about someone who wanted to try and get rid a 242 that they had in their shop garage that had been sitting for the past several years.

The story is that they had purchased it from Good Will years ago with the idea to do a V8 swap on it. However life happened and the car had sat for years. The pictures showed that the 242 turbo was in a lot of pieces. The seller said that it had to be gone by Sunday or it would be junked. The previous sale had fallen through due to the fact the title couldn't be located.
However in KS, you can title a car with a bill of sale if the car is older than 35 years old. We settled on $300 for the car and I went to collect it.

There is little rust on this car since it sat inside for years. The car in rough shape. The seller had started to take it apart and it is missing quite a few bits and the body harness was cut in several places. The engine and transmission had already been pulled in anticipation of the V8 going in.

Living in an apartment, I knew I couldn't keep the 264 and the 242, so I sent the 264 to the junkyard. I did pull the headlights and grill from it before it made its final journey.

I still have all my PRV bits to swap in. So the goal is to swap in the 3.0 PRV into this rust free example. We'll see how this one turns out.
