Wagonmeister snow cap questions.

I’m considering the above part for my 1983 242 TI that is going to be repainted soon. I like the look of this piece, but I have concerns it may mar the paint underneath? That would make it not worth it to me. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks.

Maybe a thin strip of foam tape before install?

I did this and have had no issues. The footprint is very small and you can run tape long the bottom of the caps and trim it. Super easy. Try for snug but don’t dig in like you might think.
