. Hope you figure it out soon, the rich diagnosis sounds plausible. Jack with the reqfuel during cruise and light spool to see if you can make it lean enough to cough and buck, then you'll have a baseline for too lean.

Shielded up all the engine bay side VR wiring, and the PIP & SAW. They were like two inches from the coil.

Cranked it up late last night just for a few seconds to make sure it was back together right, started cleaner and ran smoother. Logs don't really show anything different, but I didn't wind it out at all, and usually any spikes or dropouts didn't show up until the coil is loaded up a lot.

ps: ben, what brake pads are on the rx7 brakes? they get fouuuul after a hard run

They are metal masters IIRC... Just needed something to put in there, so they aren't the greatest.

There was a pretty equal mix of tire, clutch, breather, and brake smoke the other night, it definitely wasn't subtle on my chuckanut run.

Snapped the Vband on the exhaust last night, so now I'm gonna scramble around town and try to find one... It was a bit misaligned and pretty leaky, so I'm hoping that explains some of the false lean issues.

New V-band clamp showed up, worked great, so I dug into why cylinder #1's dropping out... Turns out it's actually no fuel, not no spark like I thought. Went over the wiring and everything looks OK, but I need to find a noid light to make sure it's not wiring-related... Rail comes off next, going to swap injectors and take a peek at the rail.

greeeeat successs, cylinder #1 had a bad power connection, rewired and I have 4 cylinders again! Now to tune!

I'm only certified for VFR so far.

Other news: first and second now waste the tires, third and fourth waste the clutch.

Going to see if I can tighten up the cable at all, but signs point to T5 going in sooner than I thought. hooah, I guess.

aaaaaaaand clutch is slipping in second now. probably shouldn't turn up the boostus yet. Email out to clutchnet for a dual diaphragm pressure plate! When the clutch holds it's faaaaast.
