![]() Its really cold and moist outside for some reason im getting 15psi which, on 92oct is not pinging. Cars a lot of fun right now but with the ground being damp in some areas its a little bit sketchy to drive lol. even on the open diff the rear kicks out rolling into it in a straight line. Interesting.
The open diff is really unpredictable though i almost lost it around a lower speed right hander today it was slightly entertaining but nothing i feel like doing again soon. Car still cuts i have not tried anything as of lately i believe my methods of attacking this issue will be to next make a 3" maf by modifying an 016 and tossing the 42# injectors in if its running lean i want to get this "cut" fixed and i believe its fuel cut. |

![]() dude now look what you did, im posting on tb
![]() just do a zener diode first, the cut you are getting is so fast and hard that it isnt your injectors running out thats for sure, i think your dead right about it being fuel cut, might aswell throw a diode in and test it out, you would still get fuel cut if you just went for a 3" maf and didnt touch anything else right? |

![]() Holy sh
Also, Yeah, sounds like fuel cut, but I'm still sure it's injector related. |

![]() enlighten me how injectors are related to fuel cut? i know jack **** about LH, but on every maf based system i am familiar with fuel cut is based on load, not what the injectors are doing or capable of doing...
edit: fyi there is no sarcasm intended, even tho it sounds like it haha, damn interweb can be so deceiving. |

![]() It's not really fuel cut, but in 2.4 if you lean out and enter ping (pinging being what Jerd's car has always done) it will pull timing and either cut the injectors or piss fuel in like it had one too many cups of coffee.
Speaking of lean-out my car popped its headgasket last week. ****ing boost. It's coo, I know how damn nice you really are, so no offense taken ![]() |

![]() Well from riding in his car and feeling exactly what it is doing, it is either fuel cut or very very heavy timing pull, but i never heard any pinging and he just posted saying the car is pulling hard in the colder weather but is still cutting out which makes almost 100% certain it is not pulling timing from knock/ping, and it wouldnt be pulling timing that fast or hard, its definetly fuel cut. never heard of a car cutting fuel at the same time as pulling timing, that doesnt make much sense. Let me put it this way, when it hit the "cut" everytime i thought jerd was just completly lifting off, its very sudden.

![]() Like Robbie is saying im almost certain its a maf related fuel cut. Harald its nothing to do with injectors, sorry. Brett as kyle has mentioned i have covered almost all the bases with the ignition system and it has made no difference. I would expect some variation between gap size and larger and smaller coils but its dead constant it seems to not be ignition related at all.
Robbie the zender diode would tell me if its fuel cut, you're right. But i would be concerned what kind of afrs i would see if the maf stopped reading the correct air density and the ecu did not add more fuel to compensate for the amount of air. Robbie the reason why the 3" maf works is because there is less air around the sensor the air mass is less dense in a larger pipe so the sensor reads less air thus not maxing out the voltage to the ecu and causing cut. But because of the lower mass of air the car will run lean this is where installing the 42# injectors would come in and i would have my fingers crossed that lh could tune these out to a decent afr in boost. I wish i had MS Thanks for the help guys. EDIT: actually i think ill give the zender a shot. Why not? Also it occurred to me that BeePee's chip is suppose to disable fuel cut. And the issue still happens with his chip.. Hmm Last edited by Jerd; 05-26-2011 at 04:41 PM.. |

![]() Definitely give the diode a try, it doesn't hurt anything and you DO have a wideband, so if, for whatever reason, you see something you don't like, you KNOW to let off! Do it.
And yes, we know it doesn't make sense. ![]() |

I have about 12.5~ when boost starts to hit at high load, then climb down from there, down to about 10.8 at redline. I don't have any ign overload or cutout, and it pulls clean to the redline. just an msd coil, 8.5mm plug wires, and autozone cap+rotor. no box or nawfin. I'm about to send this ezk chip to you in the mail, lend me your address in a PM and i'll get it out asap. |

![]() thats all im sayin man, just give it a shot, its quick and easy, keep a close eye on afrs, you can let off before you would do any damage if you see it go too lean, but if it doesnt cut anymore atleast you know which direction to go and you didnt spend half the day working on it
![]() btw text me, i keep forgetting to save your number and i have some stuff i wanna run by you. |

![]() Yeah it's fuel cut. I hit it at 13 psi on my 16v wagon setup with 2.4.
