Default Wiring polarity at E-fan Control module plug

Is the red wire positive, the black wire negative? I don't have a wiring diagram.

I'd be very surprised if it wasn't.
the HI/LO Volvo e-fan relay?
If so, Black ground, red positive, and two small wires Hi/LO speeds when grounded.
Fan works correctly as a puller.

Hmm, makes sense re. the colors but the total # of wires going into the fan control module (mounted on the fan shroud) is 3. Red, black, and a smaller gauge tan color wire which I understand is for the PWM signal.

I'm thinking about the two speed relay from 1990's, not PWM sorry.
