I Kinda Bought a 945 Turbo

A whole bunch of stuff has been done to the car since I last updated this thread. Big changes in life too.

Anyway, pictures are better than words.


Ball joints died. Replaced them.




The dreaded rear main seal job. Thank goodness I work at a shop now.


Winter, at least the snowy part of it, didn't last long.


Bought a do88 silicone intake hose for the 3" MAF. Love it. B-Rod's former car's valve cover will be put on too. The red one is a spare for my 242.


Just before Christmas, the iPd Big Bore TME Sweden stainless exhaust tip got adapted on. (properly, not Bork-ozoku like this haha)

That single part came from a friend off his 850 R and really was the gateway drug to all this madness...

TME Sweden adjustable strut tower brace installed! Had to bend the metal by the driver-side strut tower that held the relays first. Worked out.


Of all the stuff I sold with my 740, I regret not keeping the TME brace the most. Glad to see your wagon is still rolling along.
 
Yeah, it's kinda awesome. :) It might also holding my front left strut tower together, as I seem to have stripped one of the studs on that strut mount...

Anyway, the engine bay looks a little different now than compared to that very early pic. :-P

It gets complicated. I broke it down for a friend the other day, actually:

Grille 1:
1990 740: Unique grille, headlight trim, hood.

Grille 2:
1991-1992 740, All 940s without fogs: Shared grilles, headlight trims, hood.

Grille 3:
All 940s with fogs: Shared headlight trims, grilles, same hood as Grille 2 cars.

Nope. Cherry Turbo aftermarket brace.

Car is still being driven pretty much daily. Lots of updates since the last actual update, but not a lot of things to update since the last update saying that I will have a large update soon. :lol:
 
How's the ride on the Bilstein? I'll follow your way since I like the stance of it.

EDIT: Any spare wheels for sale as well? Haha
 
I had almost the same set up on my old 744T and I really liked the ride. On the 945T, it's still pretty good, but I have other bushing and driveline issues that make the ride not quite as good. :-P

I may have some wheels for sale later.
