![]() Anyone have any experience with the easy swap LED lightbulbs they make that fit the 240? Talking about things like this:
Genssi G7 Elite LED, with the little heat sink in the back. Wanting to leave as OEM as possible but get the out put of an LED. So probably looking for the dual beam option. I have heard they can create more heat and melt housings and all that which is why I haven't messed with it. Thanks. Last edited by PetrifiedDoubleGulp; 06-28-2021 at 08:33 PM.. |

![]() Not on the 240, but I had a Honda with LED bulbs. They ran cooler than the halogens they replaced. I don't think you have to worry.
Halogen bulbs get really hot. LED's do too, but they have all that heat sinking etc. I have heard to avoid the ones with fans, because when the fan dies (and it will) you are left with inadequate cooling for the LED.

![]() I’m running leds on my 245. The light pattern is really hard to get right without diffusers. Some kits have clear or amber tubes, I had to sandblast the clear ones in order to have any beam cutoff. The only real downside I’ve had, they don’t get hot enough to melt snow/ice.

![]() I tried some led h4 bulbs. They were the thirty dollar ones with fans on the back. They were super bright and people would flash me as if my high beams were on. They also created tremendous glare and light scatter. So, in the end I couldn't see better with them. They would completely white out a road sign so I couldn't read it.
I added a relay wiring harness setup for H4 and now use 100/90 H4 and they work well.

![]() I run LEDs and like them. I had to mess with the clocking (if that makes sense?) to get the pattern out of everybodys eyes. They are just some cheapos that were on clearance.

![]() For the single round 240 people, I've got a set of these in my c10: https://vintagecarleds.com/shop/7-in...0-classic-kit/ and they are FANTASTIC. Wanted an LED solution when I had the original 40amp alternator in and they worked just as great then as the new 100amp in there (being LED).
They make a 5" round version too.

![]() No problems my 100/90 only get a flash when on high beam. Never an issue with low beam.
