Locked Fuel Door

My 1995 850 T5-R has decided to keep the fuel door locked even when I unlock the rest of the car. With about 5 gallons of gas left I would really like to know how to fix or at least emergency open the fuel filler door. Any help?

Side of the trunk that the thing is on has a little board that can be removed and it exposes a pull wire deal with a circle wound end. Pull that and it unlocks the door.

I forgot to mention that it is a true brick ( i.e. station wagon ) where would the little plastic pull be hidden in the wagon?

Passenger side, that section of carpet covered "thing" right at the curve of the corner. SHould pop right out.
