Working on a relocation deal so i can get the shifter to roughly come out here:

Cardboard debauchery, plate on top is 6.5" x 6.5" square, for now, with the bracket on the right side of the CD being spaced out an inch to clear the top of the trans :

Gotta shorten and weld these two pieces together next and figure out how to cut and get this piece of the original shift turret to connect.

Updates will happen at some point along the process :)

UPDATE! 11/2/18

test fit done sans clutch and pressure plate, Deeworks CD009 to redblock adapter, working on a shifter setup for the stock location. just a little bit of banging on the trans tunnel for clearance otherwise fits like a glove! Will update more tomorrow on the cross-member modification and clearance for the tunnel. :)

Looks like it's going behind an LS? I've got the same thing going on with my 240.

What motor mounts/oil pan are you using? The trans position you have there looks pretty close to mine. I'm using those STS mounts, but then I moved things forward about 1 1/4" just to make clearance issues on various things (bellhousing, steering column) go away.

That's the price of a new T5-Z! That's a smoking deal for those that want a more "refined" transmission that will handle more torque than a t5.

I just paid 2k for a new T5z a few months ago. This seems like a way better option.

However, I'm really curious about noises from the CD009. At first everyone said they were smooth and quiet and shift well, but I've been looking at other forums and Z people seem to think they're loud.

I know of one person who has a single mass flywheel on a Vr6 with this trans, and says it does the T5 neutral rattle thing really badly.

Curious to actually drive one of these.

They are about as loud as my Getrag 265 was. Usually they get louder with an upgraded clutch and single mass FW. It should be ok if you can adjust your idle a little north of 800 rpm.

I have one in my 370z Nismo but it has a single mass FW and an heavy duty clutch/PP. It's not the quietest tranny I've experienced but the shifting action is very nice.

/\ /\ /\ That's what I'm using. Fair warning - he said he had a thunderstorm at his shop that fried his mill, but when I bought mine it was a solid 3 1/2 months until he shipped it. Then he forgot the offset shifter handle and I still haven't gotten that, but he said Friday it's coming soon.

I'm sticking it behind my b230ft, the reference pic of the trans in the tunnel under the shift hole is from a guy that LS swapped.

UPDATE: Going flat flywheel from STS machining and a clutch kit from yoshifab, CBF shifter and flywheel/clutch components should all be here in the next 2 weeks, then just need a tranny crossmember from yoshifab and a custom driveline made and we should begin final assembly here shortly boys and girls! :D

I wouldn't use the STS flywheel with that clutch kit. Sintered clutches and iron flywheels are bad juju. Time to buck up for a yoshi/ttv/bakaxel billet steel flywheel.

It looks like the gear ratios aren't very good on that transmission. What differential are you using?
First Gear Ratio :-)1):3.79
Second Gear Ratio :-)1):2.32
Third Gear Ratio :-)1):1.62
Fourth Gear Ratio :-)1):1.27
Fifth Gear Ratio :-)1):1.00
Sixth Gear Ratio :-)1):0.79

vs the t5z:
1st: 2.95
2nd: 1.94
3rd: 1.34
4th: 1.00
5th: 0.63

almost seems like the CD009 has too short of a first and too tall of a 6th, like 2 useless gears?
