Default Innovate Wideband Problems

So I'm having problems with my wideband setup. I made a video to demonstrate the problems rather than being vague and talking about it.



Can anyone help me?

Im no expert, but I have wired one of these in before and read up a lot on widebands in general....

Your right, it should be reading about 14.7 at warm idle, as you press on the gas it should go down, not up because the engine runs richer when you tip in the throttle and under high load.

I think you may have 1 of two problems.

1) You have to setup the gauge using innovate's logwork's software. There are some settings you might have to change to make sure gauge is set to wideband instead of narrowband and make sure your fuel is set to gasoline.


2) Your grounds might be getting interference. All of Innovate's reference documents say that this device is very sensitive to how your ground it. If you didn't follow those directions and you grounded any of the wires in different spots, you may want to consider re-doing your wiring. Ground everything to one very clean lug on the engine block.

Could be a bad sensor as I had a semi new one reading 20:1 at idle

wiring hooked up proper? check the lm programmer to update to latest firmware and to make sure LC-1 is setup for gasoline.

check the signal output voltage graphs in LM programmer to make sure they are factory as well. yellow = NB brown = WB

My guess is that the first LED readout of the three readout spots is having issues and I would suggest emailing Innovate with the vid and see what they think. I have called them and got answers without too much of a problem. In this case, I believe your grounds are fine and since the analog swing of the leds (the big outer circle of led lights) is responding properly to the throttle and the enrichments of your motor, I suspect it's more an issue with the display, or a software output to the display is the problem.

That looks like an XD16. IIRC, the XD16 plugs into one of the serial ports, so it displays whatever the LC1 thinks is the "real" AFR - there is no output tweaking on that. If it's displaying AFRs that don't agree with reality, then it's pretty much either bad grounds, bad O2 sensor, or bad LC1 - in that order.

The thing is it was working fine for several months. Then all of sudden it started doing this. It seems that the led swinging light around gauge is right, its just my numbers are off.

Have you run the LM programmer? what dose it think it's displaying? Have you done an air cal? Contact innovate they will be able to provide you with good support.
