Default M47 looking for lighter flywheel

Hi,

Anyone know where I can buy a lighter flywheel for my 1990 M47 240? I've seen the usual places flywheels, but they only suit the earlier M46 sized clutch. Since I just bought a new standard clutch for my car, I don't want to have to change it.

It needs to have the RPM sensor trigger holes

Thanks

Your clutch for the dished flywheel won’t work with a flat flywheel.

John V has some sooper bitchin (13lb) flywheels but they also require a different clutch as well.

Yep just sent one off the NJ yesterday. But should note that the last production run they are around 16lbs cause I made them thicker to ease the "what throwout bearing should i use" problem.
2 bolt patterns:
Kennedy Type 4 228mm pressure plate AND Volvo's old 215mm turbo pressure plate...

WHICH! if you dill 5 more holes for the dowel pins ALSO works for later flat Volvo PP and the desirable late 90s Saab 900 Turbo "215/228" pressure plate...This is a nice choice because they have clamp capacity for ANY concievable non-turbo Redblock and MOST daily drive Redblocks and the PP is relatively cheap--like $85.

Shipping in a flat-rate box to OZstralia would be about USD70 or so and CAN very likely fit both the flywheel and the PP.

No worries,
.
Can you also supply a clutch disc to suit the 228mm pressure plate? I can get a throwout bearing myself.

Probably but that 228mm size IS what a bunch of the later "dog dish" flywheel cars came with--which is one reason I went with 228 just so guys don't have to buy a disc like when I was doing the Saab 9000 turbo pressure plate...That size forced guys to get a disc on top of everything else..

I was just looking at the Sachs.de site to look up the M90 splines size cause I know nuthin about M90....man they are no longer supplying a lot of studd..Did find the spline call out!
19,1 x 21,8-20N

You know whatchoo have for spline???

M46 and M47 use the same clutch and flywheel.
I do not do a light flywheel to use the 228mm clutch as it is not much use with turbo engines. Going to 240mm offers more stronger clutches without a heavy pedal
