Shift boot screws

Been running bootless for awhile? decided to boot it and noticed the screws are missing. What screws fit? Are they specific bolts are just self threading screws?

I've used the washers that are usually mounted to a wiper motor. They've a lip that fits between the bolt and the rubber of the shift boot.

Bolts will make it rip out if tightened that's why they used plastic plugs.

My boot is already toast-ish so I just bolted it in for now. Two of the plugs were still there? the boot gave before the plugs when someone tried to remove it (wasn?t me). At least I have something to match replacements with.

all sorts of pop rivets like modern cars use to hold plastics in place would work - really whatever is spare on hand. You need a wide enough head to hold it in place, not too wide or it'll hit the boot where it goes up and over the carpet. Push is easy to do when carpet is kind of in the way of where a screwdriver would go.
