'91 740 B230F+T Boosting

Hello all!

A few months ago I did a turbo swap on my '91 740, below are the specs of configuration:

- TD04-13c running currently at 10psi peak
- AW70L with an aftermarket Transmission Cooler
- Turbo ECU and EZK Chipped with TLO's chips
- IPD Turbo Cam & Cam gear running 6 degrees advance.
- Blue 34.6lb (0280155830) injectors
- 93 Octane fuel

I know that the AW70L is a pretty weak transmission, and that the B230F has a higher compression ratio -- but what's the limit with regards to boost on the engine before it detonates and blows itself up? What are some other things I can do to this car to beef it up, and make it a bit safer?
 
There's never time to do it right, but there's always time to do it twice.

Glad you got a WBO2, that's one of the most important things for your car.
 
Just finished installing a wideband on my car, I've cranked the boost up to 15psi and the wideband's reading ~10 or so at WOT. I'm still feeling the acceleration is lacking and I'd like to push a bit more out of the engine, but afraid of blowing it. I'm not running lean at WOT so that's good.

If you still have the 13c your above the usable boost pressure of that turbo, after ~13psi it is pushing superheated air and making no more power then before.

As mentioned before a 15g would be a nice upgrade

Lean at WOT is bad but if you avoid it even a skinny rod NA motor can take a beating. Just don't ignore detonation
